 Analyzing the Themes
Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography help people better understand connections between people and the earth because it can show how people communicate different ideas and thoughts throughout the world. For Example, computers and emails can help someone communicate with another person from across the world.  It can help show what a certain place is like, it can also show what people are like there and how people adapt to and alter their environment. For example, someone in California might  only have shorts because they know that California has a hot climate. Also, They might act a certain way or have an accent to somebody that isn’t from California.  Analyzing the five themes can show patterns also
Difficulty with the Themes
I believe that region is the hardest to understand because it defines borders and certain areas. Also because physical characteristics and human characteristics is confusing sometimes.

    Tess, I like how you included that the five themes help understand connections between people and the earth, and help communicate with people around the world. I agree with your examples like the people in California will dress differently than people who live in a colder climate because I thought it was a very effective example for the theme you were talking about. I also liked that you included how each of the themes help analyze the world.

Map Skills Paragraph

One thing I found easy for me was continents and oceans titles because I think I know names very well. It is easy for me because I know the world pretty well and they are like the titles on books or magazines and it stands out to me. The thing I struggled with the most is most likely longitude and latitude because it is harder for me to find exactly where something is. The thing that makes it more difficult for me is placing something in a certain spot and finding its longitude and latitude because you have to look on a map and sort of estimate where exactly it would be. Basic map skills are necessary because if you get lost and your phone died, you need to be able to read a map to get home or somewhere familiar.  They help me better understand geography because I can read and know more about the earth’s surface which can help during tests and quizzes and projects.
